Do I Need a Microswitch?

Taps with microswitches are generally compatible with both non-pressure-activated and pressure-activated pumps.

If your campervan, caravan, motorhome, or marine water system uses a pump that is not pressure-activated, such as the Whale GP1002, a tap with a microswitch is often necessary. In these systems, the microswitch is crucial because it directly controls the pump.

In a pressure-activated system, a pump like the Shurflo Trail King automatically regulates water pressure and operates based on the water flow in the system. In these cases, a tap with a microswitch is not required, as the pump handles pressure regulation independently.
